Delaware Outdoor Adventure Center, named for the Delaware Indians that once lived
in the area, is nestled in the Litchfield Hills of Northwestern Connecticut; at 390
Winchester Rd. (Rt. 263) is just 3.2 miles from Rt. 8 in Winsted, Ct. We are a half-hour ride from
Bradley Int'l Airport in Hartford. |
To Grizzly Wrestling Camp from Winsted (intersection of Rt. 44 & Rt. 263)
* * Follow signs for Rt. 263, which becomes Winchester Rd.(there are no signs for the road), for
1.8 miles. It is a winding road; please watch for Rt. 263 signs. A lake will border Rt. 263 on your
right. Immediately watch for our crosswalk signs. Please park on the south/left side of Rt. 263.
Please use caution when crossing over to the camp. Follow signs to our Welcome Center, where
all visitors are asked to check in.

From Points South:
Rt. 8 (begins in Bridgeport, CT) North to Exit 47 in Winsted (this is the end of the 4-lane expressway).
Turn right off the exit onto Rt. 44 West. Travel west through Winsted on Rt. 44, 1.4 miles. Turn left onto
Rt. 263 West (the Ambulance Barn and Winchester NAPA Auto Parts can be seen on your left).
** Follow above directions
From points North:
Travel south on Rt. 8 (from Mass), into Winsted. Turn right onto Rt. 44 West. Travel west through
Winsted on Rt. 44, approximately 1 mile. Turn left onto Rt. 263 West (the Ambulance Barn and
Winchester NAPA Auto Parts can be seen on your left).
** Follow above directions
From points West:
Travel east on Rt. 44 (from Mass) into Winsted. Turn right onto Rt.
263 West (the Ambulance Barn and Winchester NAPA Auto Parts can be seen on your right, just past the
turn).
** Follow above directions
From points East:
Travel West on Rt. 44 (from Hartford) through Winsted. Turn left onto Rt. 263 West (the Ambulance Barn and Winchester
NAPA Auto Parts can be seen on your left).
